Chris Lynch has been appointed managing director of Allied Domecq Wines (NZ) Ltd, succeeding Brian Johnston, who has returned to Australia. Mr Lynch’s appointment follows the acquisition of ADWNZ by Pernod Ricard. Prior to this promotion, Mr Lynch was general manager global marketing for ADWNZ.

NZ Winegrowers honour for pioneer in UK

The first ever honorary life membership of New Zealand Winegrowers has been awarded to a former Mt Roskill lady who was a pioneer of importation of New Zealand wine into our largest and most influential market, the United Kingdom. She is Margaret Harvey MW, whose sole charge company gave many noted New Zealand wineries their first entrée to the British market.

New Zealand’s second screw cap manufacturing plant, GlobalCap NZ Ltd, has commenced production in Rosebank Road, Avondale, Auckland, this one a partnership between an Italian multinational group; and an Auckland family with a long involvement in wine closures and packaging supplies.
